Kontera and the Rich Jerk
I just wanted to let you know that after having Kontera ads on my website for about a week I was notified that I had made $1.91.
Don't laugh.
With Adsense it took me almost a month to make that much!! So, I will be sticking with Kontera for a while.
You know, I signed up with Konetera as a "friend" of Joel Comm's and under his recommendation. Usually they don't accept websites without 500,000 visitors a month (I think). I'm pretty happy he recommended it. After all, it's money that I can earn without doing anything.
By the way, have you heard that The "Rich Jerk" is selling his enterprises to prevent bankruptcy? I think he wants $8 million for all of it. I originally heard about it from an email I received from Holly Mann, who read about it on ShoeMoney's (Jeremy Shoemaker) blog.

Kontera and Musings
You may have noticed that some of the words on this blog are highlighted in blue and have a double line under them. This is because I have included Kontera advertising on my blog as another stream of income. Each one of these links takes the reader to another site , the owner of which pays Kontera a certain amount of money for each visitor. I get a percentage of what the visitor pays Kontera (a very small one but it all adds up!).
On another note entirely, I was just having these random thoughts today about how amazing the whole internet thing is. There are so many people surfing the net daily, from all over the world. You don't have to wait till someone comes to your little mom and pop store anymore. You get your site up and start to promote it and .... the sky's the limit!!! You can get exposure for your ideas or your products with so many people nowadays that it's really mind boggling. I don't think the internet will ever not be "hot" in the future. Seems to me that now is the time to stake the old internet claim.
Look at me. I have this little ol' blog and companies like Kontera and Adsense are willing to pay me to display their adds on it. I didn't even have to pay to put up the blog. Blogger provides you with hosting and all the blogging software for free. What a world!
And don't worry about competition either. If there's comptetion it means there's a market out there for your product! Just do it. There is also alot of free information available for those who don't have the capital to invest.
Anyway, thanks for listening to my ramble today...Back to the trenches :-)

John Chow - Make Money Online
Today I wanted to do a little review of a good blog I visited. It's called John Chow Dot Com and talks about how to make money online.
John Chow is a Canadian living in Vancouver. He used to work in the printing business but gave it up after a decade in order to "stake his claim on the internet".
His blog is informative and funny and always a good read. It's one of the most popular blogs on the net and has a Google Page Rank 6 (PR6). John will give you a link to your own blog if you write a short review of his blog and link back to it from the anchor text "make money online". That's because there are 44,000 Google searches monthly on that term!!!
I like a guy who doesn't take himself too seriously. John is one of those guys. Check out his blog and write a review. It will help you get a ton of traffic to your own blog!

Lisa Preston's Instant Niche Emails
I'm really excited.
I just bought a new product which I hope will really help to push my business forward.
My plan for my business is to have a bunch of related sites/blogs. I want opt in boxes on each site with a freebie offer. When the visitor signs up he/she will start to receive a newsletter once a week. In the newsletter I will be providing interesting information and some suggestions to purchase relevant products through my affiliate links.
I want to have 52 emails set up (one for each week of the year) even before the first visitor opts in. Sitting down to write 52 emails is not my idea of fun and it gets complicated, when you sit and wonder what to write to complete strangers!
Today, I found a solution to this problem. I bought Lisa Preston's Instant Niche Emails software.
I can't report on the results yet, but I can tell you that it's really cool! You still have to do some of the work, but she takes you by the hand, tells you what to write and after you've written a few things you cut and paste it into her software and VOILA! It spits out the 52 interesting, entertaining emails, which have a piece of YOU in them, since you did alot of the writing (but in very small snatches). The software can also be used to create personality filled blog posts and articles. The whole process should take only a few hours.
It wasn't super duper cheap but it was exactly what I was looking for.
You see, whenever I look at PLR sites they have good (maybe) material but not exactly what I'm looking for for my own niches. Recently I bought a nice, inexpensive package of 52 emails for one of my niches but there were no more available for my other ones. It's so frustrating! So, when I found this product I got really excited because instead of selling me "the fish" I'm being helped to fish. Know what I mean?
As you can tell, I'm quite enthusiastic about the package.
I will be back and report how the results turn out.

On Demand Profits
Wow! I bought a new $7 report yesterday and it's a doozy.
It's called On Demand Profits by Alok Jain.
It's a 24 page report on "How to Create Your own ATM Machine". I must warn you that there is nothing new and earth shattering in this report. But it's still GREAT. Because it discusses a system that we all know about but probably do not use effectively.
Alok says that you don't need a website or any specific skills to succeed at this system. He says that he made $2,000 in 10 days using this system and shows his Paypal records for proof. I believe him even without the proof, because I know that if this method is applied consistently - the money will come.

$7 Reports
A short while ago Jon Leger started the phenomenon of selling reports for $7. His first report was about how to get traffic from YouTube.
Jon's next report was also a $7 report. This one discussed the huge success of the first report and described how he achieved his success with it and also explained how he used PayPal to accept payments. He also incorporated some special scripts he'd created. Once people bought a $7 report from him they could turn around and sell it to their list, thereby making back their money and then some.
Sales really jumped because of the resell system built into the report. This system made it really simple for anyone who had bought the report to re-sell it and make money. Jon quickly spotted that his system would work for any report and not just his own so he set up a special website called 7 dollar solutions to act as a central store for anyone with a good quality report to sell.
In a matter of weeks, over 400 different reports were written by experienced online marketers and many of these sold well because they too came with Resale Rights. This meant that anyone who bought a report could then go on and re-sell it to recover their costs. If they sold more than one version, they were in profit!!
But having Resale Rights and know exactly what to do with them are two entirely different things. Experienced internet marketers were able to exploit these reports very fast and started to earn money from their Resale Rights literally in a matter of minutes but other people who were less familiar with online marketing often got stuck.

Autoresponders, The Importance of
Everyone is always talking about how the money is in the list.
Well, I've come to understand that it really is crucial to have a list. When I saw that in the past few months thousands of people had visited my site I realized what a waste it was that I didn't have an opt in box for people to join my mailing list. Had I had the opt in box all along I might have built a really nice sized list.
The beauty of it all is that it really is so simple to start buiding your list. What you need is :
1. a free report to offer to your subscribers
or
a little course that you can promise to send them in installments
2. an autoresponder.
A free report is easy enough to either write up or buy.
There are free autoresponders on the market, but my understanding is that they are not as reliable as the paid ones, and some of them even display adds in your mails. That doesn't look very professional.
The two autoresponders with the best reputations are Aweber and Getresponse.
I use Aweber and I'm very happy.
An autoresponder enables you to load up as many messages as you like into it and these messages get sent out whatever interval you decide. So, for example, you can set up 5 messages that you want to have sent out once a week for a year. This way, you can do the work in one or two days and then the whole business works on autopilot!

These messages are sometimes called "ezines" or "newsletters". Today I hear about an internet marketer who does not own her own site. All she has is a Blogger blog and a subscription to Aweber.
