101 Ways to Drive Traffic

Doug from www.imutopia.com posted this article on the Warrior Forum today. It's just loaded with good information about driving traffic to your site.
Here it is:

1.Write and submit articles :). It is a classic, but it works. This will be indefinite traffic stuck in the search engines for you. Write quality unique articles, not articles that are rehashed or provide no insight to readers, which is a huge problem these days.
2.Write and submit press releases, think prweb after you do one.
3.Write and ping blog entries. Always make sure to link back to your website with your blog posts. Try making multiple blogs and have them all link back to one main site.
4.Make sure your website is listed in DMOZ: http://dmoz.org/.
5.Advertise your website in the appropriate categories at Craigslist. Try posting your ads in the most populated cities in the world.
6.If a niche related forum that you frequently visit allows signatures, then make sure to add your website url in there.
7.Make sure to view related products on Amazon.com. You can try and take some customers from your competitors here by providing your own url if the product is similar.
8.Review websites in your niche on Alexa to try to take some of their traffic by including a reference back to your site.
9.Review some related products on epinion.
10.If you purchase a product that you actually like, then feel free to give an individual respect when respect is due and leave a testimonial. You should be able to get some traffic from that website if your testimonial is left with a url.
11.Whenever you send an email to someone, always add your website url as a signature.
12.Keep updating content on your websites/blogs try at least once per week.
13.Tag blog posts at social bookmarking sites, especially at http://del.icio.us/.
14.Add photos to your blog with appropriate keywords.
15.Tag blog photos at Flickr.
16.Politely ask your readers to subscribe to your rss feeds.
17.Try coining your own term. Might want to trademark it if you smell that it will become popular.
18.Encourage readers to comment on your blogs.
19.Include translation for your websites/blogs, especially in Chinese.
20.Do not be boring, write about something that a wide select of people would want to know about.
21.Make sure to edit your writing (unlike what im doing :D).
22.Comment on other related blogs.
23.Make a custom 404-error page for your website. You can provide a link back to your main website or even try to monetize it by offering a related affiliate program within your niche.
24.Sponsor a charity, most charities will link back to your website, and you are also doing a good deed :).
25.Sell an item on eBay as a charity auction. Most charities will link back to both your auction and your main website.
26.Start a publicity campaign, do something that individuals in your niche will take note of.
27.Brand your website with a logo and a slogan/catch phrase. Think IBM.
28.Hold a crazy contest that people in your niche will talk about. This will equal more links and traffic to your website.
29.Build a tool that individuals in your niche will love and enjoy. Then give it away for free. If the tool is helpful, then you will get quality one-way links to your website.
30.Contact small newsletters sources offline and submit articles to them.
31.Become friends with editors of an offline publication.
32.Give speeches offline. Start small and local. Also, do not forget to participate in toastmasters meetings in your area.
33.Have a GREAT product. All of the marketing/advertising in the world will do you NO good if your product is sub par.
34.Make something innovative. If you are selling information, what makes your content something you cannot get from the local bookstore, Barnes and noble or even eBay for that matter?
35.Is your product groundbreaking? Will you leave individuals with no choice but to talk about your product or service?
36.Are you selling something that wide groups of people want to know about but there is limited/scarce knowledge?
37.Write good content, if your writing is good then people will share it with their friends. In addition, webmasters will use it as content on their website with a reference back to your article, or at least they should.
38.Spark emotions. If you get people emotional about something then they will most likely talk about it.
39.Get a custom t-shirt made with your website url on it, and wear it often.
40.Build a list of subscribers. Your list is like a golden asset to you if utilized correctly.
41.Write tip articles, such as Ten easy tips to blank-blank-blank.
42.Buy traffic from the search engines by utilizing one of their PPC campaigns.
43.Open up a myspace account and find targeted friends so that you can promote your services to them. Do not spam people, myspace is cracking down on spammers and are starting to sue people.
44.Solicit a link from your local chamber of commerce.
45.Have an easy to remember domain name. If your domain name is too long or not memorable then people may forget your site.
46.Add a bookmark option to your website/blogs.
47.Purchase the misspelled versions of your domain name and have it redirect to your main one.
48.Use keywords in your image alt tags. For example, keywords go head
49.Make sure to include appropriate keywords in your title tag, search engines show more prominence or importance to keywords here.
50.Place appropriate keywords in your anchor text when linking.
51.If you have a profile anywhere online, always include appropriate keywords and link back to your website.
52.Try to get links from websites within your niche with a high pr (pagerank). Some The more one-way links (inbound links/backlinks) you have to your website, the higher your pr will become. Pagerank is important because websites with higher prs tend to have a higher search results in Google. It is a no brainier that if you can get number one for a competitive keyword then you will have enough traffic that you can handle oh by the way its all free targeted traffic to remind you.
53.Outsource grunt work. Time is in essence money. you can hire individuals at freelance services to send emails, request JV proposals, or to answer questions from prospective or current customers.
54.Offer something for FREE. Abracadabra is not the magic word, FREE is. It is like a worm on a pole for a fish in the water. its bait! Offer a free mini course or free ebook to help collect more subscribers. You can always offer a backend to monetize on this opportunity, such as an affiliate product for example.
55.After someone orders from you offer a one-time offer that compliments your product. For example, if I offered a traffic ebook, then after the individual purchase it would make sense for me to offer a traffic conversion bonus for a limited time only.
56.Become the virus within your niche. Make yourself the bug and have people talking about your product. When people talk about your product then you can induce the viral effect. However, you must give people a reason to talk about you, and being like everyone else is not one.
57.Do your research and find expensive niches to tap into. A good way to do this is to find how expensive someone is paying for a keyword on a PPC search engine. If you can sell items that are more expensive more often then it is a quicker way to get rich :D.
58.Become an active respected member of niche related forums. You can do this by offering quality posts. Hint Hint, it is not the number of posts you make, it is the quality. Remember, quality or quantity. Many useless or negative posts will have people looking at you funny.
59.Test, test, test. Your flushing money down the toilet if your not testing to see what campaigns are bringing you in the most money compared to which ones are costing you money. When you test, you can eliminate the campaigns that are costing you dollars so that you can properly maximize your marketing efforts. Without proper testing, you are pretty much lost and cant improve. You can only guess to what has or what is working. With proper testing, you do not guess, you know.
60.Stay up to date on what is going on in the world, you can monetize off hot topic trends.
61.Network, when you know more people you can find people that can help you get what you need.
62.Offer an affiliate program for your product or service. Make sure to let your satisfied customers know that you have one, if they like your product then they will be even more delighted to know that they will get money for referring you.
63.Write and give away a free ebook or report. It does not have to be long as long as its quality information neatly formatted and put together. You can also make a brandable ebook or report and allow affiliates the opportunity to brand their affiliate links in there to pass on to the next individual. You can then send this ebook to your subscribers or submit it to ebook directories.
64.Add viral components to your blog such as social bookmarking options, and a refer a friend option.
65.Be funny, people like something that will make them laugh and they will spread it for you if it is a genius idea.
66.Syndicate your content by using an RSS feeds on your website.
67.Answer peoples questions on Yahoo! answers with a link to your website in the sources area.
68.Put a link in the about me section of your eBay profile.
69.Make and upload a viral video to you tube. Use appropriate keywords in the video description for your target audience.
70.Record an informative podcast and submit them to poplar podcast directories.
71.Provide helpful answers for Google adsense on their help forum with a link back to your website. Go here to check it out: http://groups.google.com/group/adsense-help
72.Get people to comment and add content to your site. When they do this, they will provide you unique content, no need to pay for ghostwritten articles.
73.If you cannot get JVs, then try to bribe webmasters for sponsored advertising space on their newsletters.
74.Include a media section on your website so that you will give the media an easy way to stay up to date on what your company is doing.
75.Try to teach a class at your local community college or university. The more exposure you get in the public, the more credibility you will receive.
76.Make a screensaver and make it easy for individuals in your niche to download it. Have eye candy graphics combined with your company logo to brand yourself.
77.Write something controversial and spread it freely to your target market. It can be something as idiotic as the Da Vinci code, but as long people talk about it, its a successful campaign. A few hints, something controversial is something that goes against established beliefs in your market.
78.Write and publish a book. Having your own book is a quick way to gain credibility.
79.Take a guru in your niche out to lunch, and pay for it.
80.Start an organization or club about something. This can be done online through Yahoo! or Google groups.
81.Volunteer. Donate your time to a good clauseyou can always network with people and form connections at the same time.
82.Get involved in your community and try to run some type of outreach program.
83.Offer good customer service, you may be surprised on how many referrals you get just be having a reliable one.
84.Consider adding a direct mail marketing campaign to your marketing arsenal.
85.Put an ad in your local yellow pages to get some local customers. Yellow pages tend to be more successful then newspaper ads because individuals are looking for a particular service when they are browsing through the yellow pages as opposed to newspapers.
86.Post bulletins in your local supermarket. However, since not everyone may carry a pen or pencil, place your contact information and url on strips on the bottom so that individuals can rip it off and take it with them.
87.Host your own commercial so you can put as seen on TV on your products.
88.Conduct surveys and publish them. These make you appear as an expert in your field of study.
89.Break a record or shoot to be in the Guinness world records for something.
90.Make a sitemap for your website.
91.Use a favicon for your site.
92.Make your visitors more involved in your website. You can help accomplish this by adding CGI scripts to your site.
93.Make sure you have no broken links on your site, and make sure that your website shows clearly in all browsers.
94.Find domain names that get traffic, purchase them, and have them redirect to your website.
95.Spell correctly whenever using keywords in writing.
96.Look at sites related to your niche to try to figure out how they get their traffic.
97.Properly optimize your website for the right keywords.
98.Try to avoid java scripts on your website as much as possible.
99.Do not use frames on your website.
100. If your website becomes popular and starts getting lots of traffic, try switching to a dedicated server. The longer you site is down equals the more lost visitors you will have.
101. Write a quality 101 article about a steamy topic that people want to know more about in your niche ;).

The Complete Internet Money Making Guide

The following is a great article I came across by internet marketer Steven Wagenheim. Mr. Wagenheim is the author of the Honest Income Program, a program which takes the newbie by the hand and guides him/her through 3 different money making systems on the internet.
The reason I am publishing his article on my blog is that it's a GREAT ARTICLE for newbies to help get your bearings on the internet. It will help you separate the wheat from the chaff. (The article is courtesy of www.ezinearticles.com).

The COMPLETE Internet Money Making Guide
By Steven Wagenheim

There are more ways to make money on the Internet than Carter has liver pills. Some methods will make you more money than others, but obviously will take more work. What follows is an objective look at the very many ways to make money online without using the "this is good or bad" approach. Everyone is different. One person's perfect Internet marketing or money making business is another person's nightmare. But the results of each are going to fall within certain parameters, and nothing you do is going to change those parameters much. In other words, you're not going to make a six figure income out of something that on average only has a potential of earning you a few hundred dollars a month at best. That doesn't mean that the 6 figure potential of a certain business will make you anything at all.

So let's start off with that much.

Unless you are working a JOB where you get either a salary, hourly rate pay or pay per assignment, you have NO guarantee of making even one DIME on the Internet. Any site that promises you an income UNLESS it is for doing a job, is lying to you. There are NO guarantees as far as making money online.

So what are the various ways to make money on the Internet? What you will find listed below are in no special order. They are just in the order of how they popped into my head as there is a lot out there.

1. Paid To Read Emails or Other Paid To Read Programs - Let's get these out of the way. This is where a company pays you a certain amount per email or ad read. Every company has different pay rates. Some are pennies per email read. Others are hundreds of dollars per email read. As I said, I am not going to knock any program here but you need to use a little common sense when it comes to these. Who is going to pay you hundreds of dollars for reading an email? Read the fine print of the contract. You will see in most cases there is a catch. If you want the whole scoop in the Paid To Read thing, there are plenty of threads on the Internet. You will find that many of these programs either shut themselves down or were shut down because they didn't pay. However, if you find a program like this that is legit, your earning potential is about a couple hundred dollars a month, if you include recruiting into the mix, which you can do. You will never get rich off of Paid To Read programs.

2. Survey Sites - These are sites that send you surveys which you take. If you qualify for the survey you can earn as much as $25 to $50 for one survey. Most surveys though are for points and discounts. If you spent a whole day doing these it is conceivable that you can make a few hundred dollars a month doing these. You won't ever get rich from them. Also, never pay for a list of sites that give surveys. This info is available for free.

3. Randomizers - These are programs where you join, pay your fee, whatever it is and then every time somebody joins a random payment is made to one of its members. One thing you need to be careful of these. PayPal is cracking down on them because they violate their TOS. So if a randomizer uses PayPal as a payment source you may want to think twice about joining. You can lose your PayPal account. Unless you do an awful amount of promoting for these things and get your own members, you potential monthly income is about $20 a month. Randomizers are pretty much dropping like flies so you won't run into as many of these as you did a year or so ago.

4. Doublers - This is where you put in say, $20 on January 1 and in 90 days, or whatever the term is, you get $40 back. You've doubled your money. These are also not as common as years ago but they are still around. The problem with these sites is that they are also against TOS of PayPal and other payment processors. However, if you get into one of these early and put in a lot of money, you can make a bundle real fast. But you are taking a gamble because all of these eventually fold up because the structure can't support itself. Think about it. If you keep doubling your money every 90 days and never take it out you have this progression.

20, 40, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1280, 2560, 5120, 10,240, 20,480, 40,960, 81,920...etc...

Eventually after a few years they end up having to pay you millions of dollars. Unfortunately, none of these doublers have lasted that long. So be careful with these.

5. Paid Typing Companies - These actually fall into 2 types. The real paid typing companies where you have to actually have typing skills to get a job and the ones that are nothing more than typing ads on the Internet and getting paid if people buy things. You can actually make a lot of money doing this, if you use the standard Google Adwords as your advertising medium. Your average person, with a limited budget, only makes about 2 or 3 hundred dollars a month. You do have to pay for Google Ads. They're not free. The legit typing companies will pay a standard wage for the work you do, whatever the market will bare at the time. Never pay to get one of these jobs.

6. Selling Advertising - This is actually a very big thing on the Internet. This is where you work for a company that sells people advertising packages or programs that they claim will effectively promote your business. This is another one of those things where you have to use a little common sense. If these advertising methods are so good, why is everybody using them to promote the company itself and try to get people to buy the advertising package or the tools themselves? Why doesn't ANYBODY use these tools to promote their OWN business? I'm going to let you answer that question for yourself. Like I said, I'm not going to knock anything in this review. The earning potential with these can be quite great depending on how much the packages sell for. Some are very cheap, a few hundred dollars, and some are very expensive, in the thousands. If you're going to promote one of these, think about how easy or hard you think it's going to be for you to get somebody to spend $3,000 on an advertising program.

7. MLM - Stands for Multi Level Marketing. These are programs where you get people to sign up and hope that they do the same. Some of these programs can be 10 or more levels deep. You need to be careful with these. The ones that have no product or service and are simply pyramids are illegal and will eventually get shut down. What most of these companies do is include things like ebooks, auto responders, etc. so that they give the appearance of being legit. Some actually are. Most of the stuff given away by these are worthless. It's hard to know what has value and what doesn't unless you're a seasoned marketer. Earning potential with these programs can literally be millions of dollars a year. But 95% of all people who join these fail. That is a statistical fact. You can look it up. The 5% who have some success range in income from a few hundred dollars a month to $10,000 or more. Only about 1% make more than $10,000 per month. Plus, the expense of some of these programs can be quite large. MLM programs have been the cause of many a family ending up in bankruptcy. So please be cautious with these.

8. Freelance Writing - This falls kind of in the job category as you get paid for the work you do. The problem with this is that it's hard to find these jobs and they don't pay much. If you worked 8 hours a day doing this you'll probably make about $2500 a month. Most people do this in their spare time and maybe make a couple hundred dollars monthly. The trick is finding companies that offer this service or people who will pay you to write for them.

9. Internet Researcher - This is very similar to freelance writing and also very hard to find these jobs. The pay varies greatly depending on the job itself. If you can do this full time, you'll make a little bit more than a freelance writer since research requires a lot more work. You're looking at about $3500 a month for 8 hours a day. But this is a tough gig and not easy to find.

10. Mystery Shopping - Actually, this isn't really an Internet based job. You need to have a car and be able to travel to where they send you. Depending on where you live you can either get a ton of jobs or very few. Geography plays a big role in this. This is something that you can make about $1000 a month doing if you did it full time and got that much work, but most people make a couple hundred bucks a month at most. With the rising gas prices this isn't as attractive as it used to be.

11. HYIP - Stands for High Yield Investment Program. 99% of these are illegal and the feds are cracking down on them. The list of HYIPs that have fallen is a mile long, including the big fiasco with 12 Daily Pro. Yes, if you get in early, you can make an amazing amount of money with these if you put in a lot. Even if they do pay 12%, 12% on $20 isn't going to pay you much money. To earn big you must invest big. If you can afford the risk of losing all your money, which many people have done, then you may want to go in for a quick killing on one of these. The earning potential is unlimited.

12. Selling Other People's Products - This is called affiliate marketing and can actually be very lucrative if you put in the time to promote. Ad expenses can chew you up and if you pick products that nobody is interested in you can end up making very little. Clickbank is one of the biggest companies offering this service. It is best to do a lot of research on a product before you decide to try selling it. Because there are so many existing products out there to choose from, this process can take a long time. The earning potential here is unlimited if you have the resources. But again, just like with MLM, 95% of affiliate marketers don't make any money because they don't advertise properly. The other 5% earn anywhere from a few hundred dollars a month to $10,000 a month or more.

13. Creating Your Own Business - This is where you make your own ebook, or start your own service, or maybe even create a product and sell it. The potential with your own business is unlimited depending on what you're selling. When I say your own business, I don't mean to join one of these sites that say "We'll give you your own business." These are just cookie cutter sites that thousands of other people have. And there is nothing wrong with them. But you will be limited to what you can do with them as most have pretty fixed sales templates. Some are better than others. So do your homework on them if you don't want to build a product and website from scratch.

14. Everything Else - The above list is by no means exhaustive. There are a number of odd ways to make money on the Internet that don't quite fit into one of the above. But if you examine them closely, you will see that they have similarities to one or more of the above items. Take these on a case by case basis. If it seems like something unique, then ask a lot of questions about it before diving in. Make sure you understand every aspect about what you're getting into before giving your credit card number. Most Internet "opportunities" have money back guarantees. Some don't, as I have painfully found out. While we want to believe the best in everyone, there are crooks out there. There are people who simply want to take our money, and will do whatever they can to get it from us.

I hope the above helps. If you ever have a question about any particular business that doesn't quite fall into one of the above, feel free to send me an email with the link to the site. I'll be happy to check it out.

Larry Dotson's Secret Marketing Strategies

Hello, hello, hello. Yes, it's still me. I just changed my blog over from the old Blogger to the new one and have been busy adding all the stuff into the template that disappears in the move. It wasn't that painful and I hope I got it all in.
I also hope you like the new format!!

Today I want to tell you about another membership site with good information (yeah, I know that there are SO MANY of them).

It's Larry Dotson's Secret Marketing Strategies. Yeah, ok, so they're not that secret but I've had a look at the 189 page document and it does have some good strategies in there that every marketer should know about. When you go through it you can see how alot of marketers out there do use some of these strategies (like telling your prospects that you wrangled a good price out of the product owner special for them). Some of them sound a bit ridiculous, but they must work, because I've seen many, many marketers use them!! So, skedaddle (did I just say that?) on over and have a lok at Larry Dotson's Secret Marketing Strategies.

Joe Robson's Newbie Club

Oh gosh, I haven't posted in a while. Sorry about that. It's been, well, LIFE that's been keeping me from the computer. Nothing bad. Just Life (with a capital "L").
Today I want to point you to a good resource for newcomers to the world of internet marketing.

The Newbie Club.
Run by Mr. Joe Robson. A bit unique. The site's motto is "Hey I'm a Newbie, not a dummy, just show me HOW!". I like that.

This site has a mixture of information. Some is free and some you have to pay for. For example, I get a newsletter from them every week and one of the things in there is a tip on dealing with your pc. Useful stuff.

There are many courses and tutorials available, from the basics of the internet to dealing with photos, Windows, email etc. They've got a very extensive course on building your first website and there is a course about pc security. All in all, very valuable information.
I also like owner Joe Robson's style of writing. He's a master copywriter and he has a course on that too!! By the way, Joe Robson is the author of Ken Evoy's famous book "Make Your Words Sell", which is part of the SBI program. Check it out. The Newbie Club.
p.s. I forgot to mention that they have a nice, two tier affiliate program, so you can earn money by promoting their products.

"Give PPC the Finger"

I'm a little embarassed about the title and the picture on the site I'm going to tell you about, but there is a new free report out by Keith Baxter called "Give PPC the Finger". He's distributing it in a similar way to the "Death of..." reports. For each person you refer, you get $1 and for each person THAT person refers you get 75 cents. 50 Cents for third level referrals!!

This way, Keith builds up his mailing list and we get to make a few dollars. The first person to refer 1000 people gets a nice prize.

To tell you the truth, I haven't read the report yet, so I'm not going to tell you how brilliant and wonderful it is, but I don't see why I can't make some referrals in the meantime. Keith says that he's not going to be leaving it up indefinitely. A few weeks at most.
Check it out.

Private Label Rights Membership Site

Well as you guys no doubt know, to really succeed with our internet marketing careers, we need to have great digital products that convert all of our qualified leads into real, cash-paying customers. For many people, coming up with products will involve creating them on their own, or it may involve them commissioning other professionals to do the hard work for them.

Chances are though, like most smart internet marketers, you probably want to save a whole lot of time and money. After all, if you were to create your own e-book for instance, expect to spend tens of hours doing the research you need, and then writing the book itself – and that’s if you’re only semi-decent at writing. If you’re a good writer, it will still take you hours and hours and if you’re terrible, well, forget it, because your e-book won’t sell!

Now, you certainly won’t go wrong by hiring a good writer to create a really good e-book, but think about how much a good writer is going to cost you. Wouldn’t you rather spend that money on getting visitors to your site so you can make more money?

I’m pretty sure that you’re always looking for ways to save time and money on your internet marketing business. I’ll easily spend hours each week just reading up on the latest internet marketing happenings and news, in the endless search of improving the way I do business. In my latest search, I came across a really unique website called PLR Wholesaler, that’s well worth you checking out if you are serious about time and money saving:

Now the name is pretty self-explanatory. This site was created by an internet marketer for internet marketers, and it’s a one-stop shop for PLR material. E-books, reports, training videos, e-courses – you name it!

The nice thing about this site though is that membership is free. You can sign up as a VIP Member, which won’t cost you a cent, and you can download a huge amount of PLR material for free!

You can sell that material yourself as part of your own internet marketing business, and of course, you can change any part of the product to suit your target audience.

Don’t be put off by the free part either, in terms of the quality of the material that’s on offer, because I’ve downloaded some of the the free PLR stuff myself and it’s good quality.

In addition to the free PLR material you can download as VIP Member, you can also access heaps of great information about how to improve your internet marketing business.

You also have the option of paying a small one-time fee to become a Full Member of the site, and that will entitle you to even more PLR products to download and sell, plus you can become an affiliate of the PLR Wholesaler website itself, and receive a great commission whenever somebody you refer signs up as a Full Member.

So, please join now – this is a site that’s definitely worth your time regardless of your level of experience in internet marketing, so visit it now at:
PLR Wholesaler

You won't be disappointed.

Internet Marketing Forums

If you are a newbie you may not know that posting on internet marketing forums is a great way to learn about this industry. It is also a nice way to network with other internet marketers.

Forums are places where you can learn free of charge all kinds of stuff that you can pay tons of money for (we all know those expensive e-books that purport to teach us about internet marketing).
I like to spend some time in the morning and in the evening, just catching up with what's going on on the various forums. Posting to forums is also a great way to drive traffic to your site or blog. You probably found this blog through one of the forums.

One bit of advice: Before you go charging in to a forum to try to advertise your product or site, please read the rules of the forum. Most forums do not allow affiliate links. Some allow them in your signature (most, actually). Spend some time posting before you try to sell stuff to people. Otherwise, it's very, very annoying to the old timers and you'll miss out on the biggest benefit of belonging to a forum, which is building relationships with people/potential customers.

Here is a list of some forums that I have found helpful and where I am known to hang out:

The Warrior Forum
The Warrior Forum is probably one of THE best forums out there today. Lots of serious internet marketers hang out there and you can get an entire education from hanging out there!!

Conquer Your Niche
Conquer Your Niche is a revolutionary forum where you actually get credit for posting and reading posts. These credits enable you to display your ads in the forum. The latest rage!

Work at Home
The Work at Home (Whydowork) forum is more of a forum where people who are just starting out go to. It's a place where you can get ideas about how to make money on the internet.

Work From Home Moms
Like its name, this forum is geared more to work at home moms, but anyone can join. The people on the forum are often people with real niche businesses as opposed to internet marketing businesses.

Mike Merz's Newbie Forum
A newbie forum. Lately, the moderators have not been doing their jobs, so there is TONS of spam on the forum. Very annoying, but it has the potential to be a good forum.

Craig Desorcy's I'm4Newbies Forum
This forum is part of Craig's I'm4newbies site. Craig is an American living in Japan who is dedicated to helping newbies. It's still a very small community and therefore it is possible to get some personal attention and help from Craig. Craig is so nice, that when I told him about my blog and asked his opinion, he made me a 10 minute Camtasia video where he critiqued my site. What a guy!!

Joel Comm's Adsense Chat.com
Nice little forum dedicated to discussing all the various Adsense issues. I joined it because I purchased Joel Comm's Instant Adsense Templates. There are people there with alot of site building experience and I always get good advice there.

Clickbank Success Forum
As its name suggests this forum is all about Clickbank. Run by Clickbank expert Harvey Segal. I don't go there often but it is a wealth of valuable information.

Here is Mike Merz's directory of forums. It's not the most updated in the world, so not all of the links work but it'll give you somewhere to start.

Randy the Hermit's Marketing Beginners

I found a wonderful (free) site which you can sign up to and get tons of valuable information and educational videos. The site belongs to Randy, the Hermit and is called Marketing Beginners. Randy has 10 years of experience online and he is giving you 75 videos on all kinds of internet marketing topics FREE OF CHARGE. You can upgrade your membership and get even more stuff, but even the free membership is unbelievable.

His videos are of great quality. Clear and understandable. And Randy has this great, deep voice which is very easy to listen to (very often videos have lots of pauses and uhms and ahs or are very hard to hear without plugging in earphones). I have to tell you very honestly that this site is one of the absolute best sites I have encountered in a long time.

Editor's note: Check out the BEST beginner's e-book around - Breakthrough Marketing Secrets Revealed. It's inexpensive and loaded with great information for the newbie!

Randy also has a forum on the site where he is happy to answer newbie questions. It's not that often that you find someone who is just "there" for you, the newbie or the intermdiate marketer.

There is also a wealth of information on the site about resources that Randy recommends. You can tell that this guy is on the level. An honest, hardworking internet marketer that is out to really help others and not just make a fast buck. It's obvious that he invested alot of himself in this helpful site.

Needless to say, you can also earn money promoting his site. He even has a free e-book which you can rebrand and make your own.

Check it out!!! Marketing Beginners.

Affiliate Marketing - 6 Reasons to do it!

Affiliate Marketing is one of the most cost effective businesses to run.

What exactly is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is all about selling someone else's products. Basically, you sign up with a vendor as an affiliate and then you drive traffic to the vendor's site. When someone makes a purchase from the vendor you automatically collect your commission. The vendor pays you a percentage of the sale price for bringing the customer to him.

Here are the 6 reasons that it is worthwhile to choose affiliate marketing as your form of home based business.

1. Relatively low cost

It usually costs quite a bit of money to start a home based business. There is always some investment required. An affiliate marketing business does not require a huge investment. Sure, you have to have a computer, connection to the internet and a printer. But that's not like the starting capital you would need for a business based outside your home where you sell physical products.

2. No inventory necessary

With affiliate marketing it is not necessary to have a warehouse full of products which you have to ship to your customers. Usually the vendor takes care of all aspects of product maintenance and supply.

3. Unlimited Income Potential

The sky is really the limit with affiliate marketing. You don't have to show up at the office. You do have to put in the necessary hours to promote your affiliate products and drive traffic to your or the vendor's site. But you decide how much effort you want to invest and you reap the rewards. It's possible to work "smart" instead of "hard".

4. The World is Your Market

When you have your store on real real estate you are limited to the people in your town or city. When you sell products on the internet your market is the whole world! The power of the internet is unbelievable and you can reach anyone who is connected to the world wide web.

5. Low Risk

There is very little risk associated with affiliate marketing, considering that the initial investment is very low. Yes, your time is valuable and you need to invest some money in essential tools to build your business but the risk is still relatively low.

6. No Closing Time

A website is (usually) up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your "store" can be making money while you sleep or are on vacation. It's kind of like a vending machine. It's always there even if you are not. People can come in and buy at any time.

These advantages are fairly significant when choosing a home based business.
Sure, there are many other factors to consider, which will determine the degree of success your business will have. But, all things considered, affiliate marketing is a pretty good deal and definitely a worthwhile path to take!!

The Death of Internet Marketing

Ok, I want you to download this FREE report on "The Death of Internet Marketing" by Mike Filsaime.
Why?

Well, first of all, because I will get $1 for each person I refer to the report (and you can too!).

Secondly, although I haven't read through the whole report yet, it's really, really interesting and you don't have to buy anything!
Mike Filsaime has been in the Internet Marketing business for a while and is a very, very successful marketer. He is the author of Butterfly Marketing which has affected many in this profession. He has been around the block a few times and has very interesting observations about internet marketing - what's going on and where the whole industry is going. Specifically, he talks about marketing to other internet marketers, as opposed to working in niches. By the way, he's paying money to give away this report in order to build his opt in list (like what Scott Boulch did with his "Death of Adsense" reports)

So, what are you waiting for? It's free! The Death of Internet Marketing.

ListLotto - Play to win at the Double Opt In

ListLotto -

Building my list is at the top of my "to do" list these days.
I found what looks like a good tool. It's especially interesting because it's new and there is a chance to get in very high up, meaning you won't get mailings from a huge upline.

Lets look at what ListLotto is:

Its a Downline List Building web site that lets you email the list you build every 5 days.
There are many other sites like this on the market, such as ListDotCom, YourLuckyList and many others.

Each of these sites allow you to build a list, then mail out to that list every few days or so. The incentive is you can grow your list by sharing information about the main site, which in turn attracts new visitors and then means you build a list of your own.

Provided you build the relationship correctly with these people, you can then start to pull them across to your main sites and market to them from there.

In general, these downline list builders will also let you upgrade to a paid membership which gives you more access to mail more people on the site itself.

This is great in the early days of these sites launch as everyone reads the mail from them and you can get a great response.

Where ListLotto has set itself apart from the current trend of list building web sites, is it gives you the potential to email to the entire house list, no matter how big by winning the weekly free draw, hence the name List Lotto!

The cool part is, for every person you refer, you can gain a further entry into the weekly draw, thus making it Viral... Invite more people, the more chances you will have to win the weekly draw.

Now with the appeal this has, it means that thousands of people will be marketing this site with all the great tools included, even Blog Posts :)

The more people promoting, means the BIGGER the list will be on the site... Imagine for one moment the potenial to mail to hundreds, thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of people? Wouldn't that be simply AWESOME...

Well now you can...

ListLotto is the ultimate list builder online and its free to get started... You could win the weekly draw and be sending your information to thousands of interested people.. now that sounds like a list I would want to send to..

Reseller Rights - caveat emptor (buyer beware)

I wanted to mention something that you have to be really careful about.

If you sign up to different mailing lists like I have (usually in order to get freebies), you tend to hear from the mailing list owner on a daily basis. I get many, many mails with all kinds of offers.

This week I got a whopper freebie offer. There were about 9 pages loaded with all kinds of free stuff. That same day, I received offers from other people with only one or two of the products that I had already seen in the freebie offer. Except that people with reseller rights were now offering me the products for a much higher price tag.

Another thing that happened was that I received an offer for a product for $5 or $7 and that same day I got the same offer from someone else for (I think) $27. Wild, huh?
Just goes to show you that you really have to be careful before whipping out the credit card!!! it's like the wild west out there in internetland....

More on Membership Sites

Ok, so everyone is talking about how membership sites are the way of the future (ho hum). So, everyone and his brother/sister is creating one. It's a great way to achieve monthly income.
Now, I, being the sucker that I am for anything FREE - sign up for almost every single internet marketing membership site that comes my way. But, I always sign up for the freebie and the chances are infintisimal (spelling??) that I will upgrade. If I were to upgrade on each site I wouldn't have money left for food each month!!!!!
What do you guys think? Does anybody actually pay membership at these sites?
Would you?
If you're also a sucker for freebies, here is the latest membership site I found advertised in my inbox. It's all about making "Net Infomercials".

Adsense Templates

I don't remember if I mentioned it but I bought Joel Comm's latest set of Adsense Templates (150 of them). I am about to put up my first site and I figured I would use one of his templates. That way, alot of the technical work would be done for me and I could concentrate on content.
Well, it appears that it's not so simple because Google isn't crazy about templates.
Today, I got a very interesting email from Michael Campbell, and because I think that the information is very valuable I am going to post the mail in its entirety here. Anyone interested in templates should read this:

Internet Marketing Secrets Newsletter

How to Modify Your Templates

In issue 101 "Modify Your Templates or Suffer the
Consequences" we learned that HTML website templates,
especially the AdSense ones, must be modified before you
use them. They leave giant footprints that are easily detected
and penalized by Google's engineers.

The most frequently asked question (FAQ) after issue 101
was, how to modify the templates, or what to modify, to
prevent getting penalized. Here are your answers:

(Get issue #101 and the follow-up discussions on the IMS
blog, or download it from the IMS archives page.)

IMS Blog & Discussions ==> http://homepage.mac.com/dmcorp/

Archives ==> http://www.InternetMarketingSecrets.com/backissues.html

Or if you prefer the condensed "single paragraph" version of
what we discussed...

Google employees went through the process of looking at,
and evaluating, sites that had AdSense ads on them. Based on
what the humans did, they created an automated computerized
version, a Quality Control Robot to do the same thing.

This QualityBot now visits all your AdSense sites to ensure
they are not auto generated, scraped content, or low quality
templates. If it finds "off the rack" template sites, they are
given a low quality score, meaning that you get a lot less
money, every time someone clicks on one of the AdSense
ads that are displayed on your site.

So here's what you can do, to keep your revenues up.

IMS #104 - How to Modify Your AdSense Templates

The way that the "Template Filter" works, is based on the
"travel time" between elements. Or in other words, the
interval, or the measure of the distance between elements,
and how long each element occurs.

Perhaps a better way to understand the concept is with a
musical analogy.

All Western music is based on the 12 notes of the piano.
Yet there's millions of original songs... how can that be?
It's the intervals and durations of the notes that let you
recognize patterns. The Template Filter - that my geeky
buddies to as K1 - is similar.

If I walk up to any piano in the world - it doesn't matter
if I play in the Key of C, G, or F - and I go "1 1 5 5 6 6 5"
you'd instantly recognize Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
It's the same way that the K1 filter can recognize any
template in its database.

Even if your template has perfect HTML. Even if it complies
to W3.org standards with a valid Doctype and an ISO
statement, it still doesn't matter. That's just like saying
your piano is tuned and doesn't have any sour notes.

So what can we do, to make the Template Filter think our
template is playing an original tune? First off we have to
look at the obvious basics.

Take a look at your template. Is the background green?
Make it yellow. Is there a masthead at the top? Resize it.
Is your column width 700 pixels? Make it 720. Is your artwork
in a folder called art? Give it a new name. And for heavens
sakes, rename all the photos and include ALT text.

These are just a few things we can do to reduce the
footprint of the template. But these alone are not enough.
These are just the surface items and the real work remains
to be done. Afterall, we're looking for intervals here, the
measure of the distance, or travel time between elements.

The elements that make up a web page are things like
graphics and photos, hypertext links, headline tags like H2
& H3, paragraphs of text, anchors, bold, italic, bullets and
other types of lists, rules, tables and ad blocks. What we
need to do is change the order in which the elements appear.

So if you look at your template and you see the following
items... masthead, ad block, photo block, ad block,
paragraph, paragraph. You are singing Twinkle Twinkle
Little Star to the search engine's Template Filter.

To make the song of the template your own, do something
drastic like deleting the masthead. Start with H2 headline
text containing your keywords. Move the photo block up and
put an ad block underneath. Then move up the paragraph,
and add a second ad block under the first paragraph.

Remember that it's not just the notes or elements on the
page, its the intervals between the elements, and how long
each element lasts. Just by moving the elements around,
you've created your own original symphony. One that the
search engine has never heard before.

To be successful, you must vary your templates. Modify
them, until each one can stand on its own merit.

Remember, the goal is to convert customers for the
AdWords advertiser. If you do that, they'll keep advertising
on your AdSense site, and you'll earn way more per click.
Then everyone will be signing a happy tune.

That's it for this issue my friend. Thank you for reading.
We'll chat again soon. Until then, here's wishing you all
the best for online success.

Membership Sites

I don't know about you but I'm getting a little tired of all the "fantastic" offers in my inbox.
Yes, I'm guilty of opting in to various mailing lists and "newsletters" in order to receive a freebie. Subsequently I wind up with this jam packed inbox with so many offers, many of which are identical!! Especially when there is a big launch happening. Then, I get the same offer (almost) from many different people, each one offering his own bonuses. No surprise, by the way, when you see the prizes offered to the affiliates that bring in the most business. The most unique bonus I've seen so far is an electric scooter, delivered to any country in the world!

This week there were a few launches, one of which was the info blueprint program by Ken McCarthur. It actually LOOKS like a good program. He sounds very sincere in his sales copy and his bonuses alone are worth a fortune. The price, on the other hand is a bit steep. It's $1,497. Wow. Way out of my ballpark!

I have been fairly careful to stick with the very low priced items and the freebies. It's amazing how much information is available for free on the web!

Yesterday I joined a membership site all about PLR (Private Label Rebranding), which is the latest "rage" on the net. This site is run by Edmund Loh and Aurelius Tijn. The reason I joined is that I'm interested in learning all about PLR - what it is, what it's good for and how I can make money with it. I have so many PLR items gathering "dust" on my hard drive. Might as well find out what I can actually do with them.

If you are interested in a free membership you can join PLR Secrets Exposed.
You can listen to an interesting audio (or read it on a pdf file) which explains the whole concept. They also have a bunch of tutorial videos available (also for free).

The idea behind these membership sites is to get people to sign up for free and offer them value which will encourage them to upgrade their membership, thereby guaranteeing the site owner ongoing monthly income. This is the latest rage and you'll notice that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. You also get the chance to earn money, of course, because each membership site offers you the opportunity to become and affiliate and then when someone you refer upgrades their membership - you can earn commissions.

Product Launches Exposed - Free Report!

Check out this free report on Product Launches Exposed
Find out what big mistakes the gurus and the newbies made and
learn from them!!

Negative Product Reviews

Today I wanted to talk about honest reviews of products.
Everything is great when the review you want to write is a positive one. That way, you can write alot of positive stuff and stick in a few negative points, if there are any. That looks pretty sincere.
But what happens when you really don't like the product?
Do you just keep your mouth shut?
Do you just say what you feel if someone asks you directly?
Is it doing other people a favor by telling it like it is and possibly saving them money?

The other day I wrote something negative on this blog about a certain audio that was mailed to me by an internet "guru" as a promotion for a big launch.
I listened to the audio and I hated it.
I posted about it here on the blog and also in the Warrior Forum in a thread about the program.
Subsequently (that night) I felt very bad about posting it because in the post/thread I criticized the person who made the audio. Someone else on the thread gave a much more professional and all encompassing review of the actual product which he had checked out. I felt that maybe I had hurt the feelings of the person who made the audio and I apologized in a private mail and later on - publicly on the forum.

I also erased the post from this blog.

It seems that there is a fine line. On one hand, I want to voice my opinion and my disappointment in the product I received. On the other hand, just because this is the internet and I can't see the person I'm talking about doesn't give me license to say what I want. The internet is kind of like one big meeting room. If I say negative about someone in the "community" it's as though I attacked someone in the same big meeting room. Do you understand what I'm getting at?

So what's the answer? Just to keep quiet? Someone on the forum suggested that negative reviews can be sent to people in our list instead of broadcasting them on forums.
I dunno. Alot of people (including me) really appreciate reading honest and unbiased reviews.
In this world of internet marketing everyone seems busy washing each other's backs because we are all selling to each other and JV'ing with each other. It's downright incestuous...
What do YOU think?

Domains and Hosting

Please congratulate me.
Today I registered my first domain name www.denagottlieb.com.
Watch out world!!!!

I'm not totally sure yet what I will do with the site with my own name, but one of the reasons I got it (besides "branding") is that it is a good idea to "cloak links". If you use your affiliate link people can steal your profits by replacing your affiliate code with their own. Also, sometimes when someone sees an affiliate link they would prefer that you not get your commission and will go access the site without using your link. It also just looks a heck of a lot nicer and more aesthetic to have a short, professional looking link.

Here is an example of an ugly affiliate link:
http://www.myinstantatm.com?aff=14232

Here is an example of a nice short link:
http://denagottlieb.com/recommends.

Isn't that so much nicer?

If you are interested in a whole article and audio about the importance of link cloaking leave me a comment and I'll send it to you.

Michael Rasmussen's "Email Promos Exposed" Video Series: How to Write Killer Email Promos That Get Results!

As you may know by now, I am a sucker for freebies. The latest one is a set of 8 videos about email promotion.

Have you ever been faced with the task of having
to write an email promotion to your list, and
then realized that you didn't know what to say or
how to say it?

Michael Rasmussen's new video course "Email
Promos Exposed" promises to solve that problem
for you by walking you through the actual process
of creating killer email promos step-by-step.

*************************************************
If you're in a hurry, just go ahead visit here to get instant free access to these videos. I decided to see if Michael's videos live up to
their promise by trying them out myself. Here's
what I found:

*************************************************
Overall Quality
*************************************************

The first thing I noticed when I opened up the
first video was the stunning production quality.
He used Camtasia Studio for the production, which
is now the industry standard for creating
high-quality screen capture video products. The
audio is near studio quality, and the graphics
are very professional. These videos were made by
someone who KNOWS what he's doing. Well done!

I also liked how Michael divided the videos up by
section, and then again by sub-section. For
example, one video is all about the subject line,
and then there are different parts of that video
that each cover a certain area of crafting a
killer subject line.

Now let's move onto...

*************************************************
THE ACTUAL VIDEOS
*************************************************

Here's a brief summary of each video. Obviously
it's impossible to list every single thing here,
but I want you to get a feel for what each one
covered, and how well it covered it.

*************************************************
If you want, just go ahead visit here to get instant free access to these videos:

*************************************************

VIDEO 1 - INTRODUCTION

This video served as an introduction to the whole
course. You get to see a picture of Michael in
his every day life, and he establishes his
credibility right up front by talking about some
of his massive successes online. He even provides
proof of credibility by displaying two checks in
the amount of $50,000 and $25,000 which prove
that, when it comes to the subject of making
money with email promos, he knows his stuff.

This is a good lesson for anyone to get. Whenever
you're teaching people how to do something, it's
good to establish your credibility up front, so
that there's no doubt about whether or not you're
qualified to talk about the subject. Most product
developers either skip or minimize this step.

VIDEO 2 - BEFORE YOU WRITE THE PROMO

This video talks about some things that no other
marketer has bothered to mention. You'll learn
things like:

* The mindset you need in order to write a killer
promo

* The different tools you need before you get
started

* How to keep your emails laser-focused

* How to create an outline that practically
writes the email for you.

This was a fantastic video, and did a good job of
kicking things off.

VIDEO 3 - THE SUBJECT LINE

The subject line is a confusing topic, because nobody's 100%
sure what the best tactics are.

Michael breaks it down, and reveals:

* The biggest secret for writing a subject line
that makes people insanely curious.

* Techniques for personalizing the subject line.

* Mistakes to avoid when using personalization.

VIDEO 4 - THE OPENING

This is where a lot of people slack off when
writing their emails. Michael talks about how
important it is to create an opening that is
conversational, and then reveals techniques and
examples on how to do that.

He also reveals:

* How to get people to keep reading your email
once they've opened it.

* How to make your opening interesting.

* Mistakes to avoid when creating your first few
paragraphs.

VIDEO 5 - THE BODY COPY

This is one of the "meatiest" portions of the
course, because it reveals techniques that are
not widely discussed on the forums, blogs, and in
most eBooks. He talks about the importance of
keeping your body copy tight and relevant, and
then reveals how you can do that. You'll also
learn:

* How to write powerful bullets that make people
curious and want to find out more.

* Simple formatting tricks for making your body
copy easy to read.

* The secret of "bucket brigade copy" and how to
use it in your email promos to force people to
keep reading.

VIDEO 6 - THE CALL TO ACTION

This is where a lot of people wimp out in their
email promos. They start out strong, but when it
comes time to ask the reader to click the link
and take action, they don't know what to say.
Michael talks about some of his favorite
techniques for making that happen, and also
reveals:

* The "magic question" to ask yourself that will
make your close much more powerful.

* The secret of the "unanswered question" and why
handling this is a surefire way to get people to
act right away.

* The structure of a powerful close.

* Mistakes people make when creating their close.

VIDEO 7 - CREATING AN EFFECTIVE P.S.

Some people say that the P.S. is one of the most
important parts of the email, because it is often
the one thing that gets people to click the link
at the end. In this video, Michael talks about:

* Why you should including a P.S. at the end of
your email.

* The 4 different kinds of P.S.'s you can use
(this section was a real eye-opener for me).

VIDEO 8 - COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE

Unless you're a seasoned pro, you're
probably guilty of some of the things that
Michael talks about in this video as well, and
that's why it's so valuable. I've shaved years
off my learning curve, because now I can avoid
some of the costly mistakes that I was bound to
make in the learning process.

VIDEO 9 - HOW TO CREATE FOLLOW-UP EMAIL PROMOTIONS

This video alone is going to make me a lot of
money. Why? Michael showed me in this video how
important it is to send a follow-up promotion,
and he showed me exactly how to do it. He covered
things like:

* The psychology of follow-up email promo's.

* The 2 main types of follow-up promos that make
the most money.

* How to overcome readers' objections in your
follow up emails.

* The 2 most common mistakes people make when
writing follow-ups and how to avoid them.

VIDEO 10 - HOW TO WRITE BACK END EMAIL PROMOTIONS

Every marketing guru out there says that the REAL
money is on the back end. I'd have to agree with
them, but the problem is... most people have no
idea how to set up a back end system that makes
money. This video will teach you how to set up an
automated back end that's loaded with killer
promos that make you lots of cash on autopilot.
He reveals things like:

* The big difference between regular and back end
email promos.

* How to prepare a back end promotion sequence.

* Common mistakes people make when creating back
end email promos.

VIDEO 11 - CREATING AFFILIATE EMAIL PROMOTIONS

This could be the most important video of the
entire package for a lot of people, because most
people email their list to promote other people's
products as an affiliate. Let's face it, if you
only have 3 products, can you really afford to
only email your list 3 times a year? They'll get
bored hearing about the same old products over
and over again. This video sheds some light on
how to create killer affiliate promos. Michael
reveals things like:

* The two main types of affiliate promos.

* What makes affiliate promos different than
regular promos (and why ignoring this huge secret
could cost you big money).

* Michael's favorite tactics for creating
affiliate promos that no one else is doing.

* 3 different ways to add scarcity to your
affiliate promos (this is the most important
section of the video, so make sure you watch it
over and over again).

*************************************************
CONCLUSION
*************************************************

As you can see, Email Promos Exposed really packs
a lot of punch! Most of the courses out there
offer only watered down, weak content. Not this
one! These videos are going on my "A-list" for a
long time.

I plan on reviewing them every couple months
to make sure that I have the principals, techniques and
tactics burned into my mind.

If email marketing is an important part of your
business (and in my opinion, it's the most
important part of ANY online business), then you
owe it to yourself to check out Michael's
exciting new videos, Email Promos Exposed.

Listbuilding

I received a very nice (isn't "nice" a great word?) about list building. I really liked the content of the video. It's about 12 minutes long a worth a watch/listen. List Building video.
I listen to stuff before I send it out!!!! Admittedly, there is a splash page after the video which tries to sell you software which helps build your opt in boxes. It looks good to me and I would like to purchase it but I'm not ready for it yet.

Free Advertising Report

Check out this Free Advertising Report. I'm a sucker for anything that's free (and that I can make money from).

Joel Comm's Adsense Templates

Boy, it's been a busy week for me. Not on the internet!
It's been the holiday of Sukkot and I have been busy with my kids for the whole week.
That's why I haven't posted.
But, I'm back and with a vengeance.

One thing I did do this week is make my first BIG purchase. I went and bought Joel Comm's
New Adsense Templates.
With all the talk going on about whether Adsense is dead or not, I came to the conclusion that any guy who makes almost $24,000 a month from Adsense must know something about the topic. His product had so many glowing reports that I decided to go for it.

What I will be getting (he sent it in the mail because it's too big to download) is 150 templates, each one in 5 different formats: HTML, HyperVRE, Wordpress, XsitePro and phpBB (forums). I plan to take one template and go "all the way" with it. This forces me to choose a niche from the 150.

Most of the technical work is done for me and I will be able to concentrate on content and driving traffic to the site.

By the way, there were a zillion bonuses that came along with the package, one of which is his book that sells for $97. He included 400 PLR (Private Label Rights) articles, a book on creating content, 10 "squeeze pages" for the niche sites (to help build a list), a squeeze page success guide, a web traffic suite of e-books, a Clickbank text ads generator and other stuff that I can't be bothered to add here. It's a huge package it'll be hard to get a handle on it all. But I'm sure that if I focus I will do good work with it and start seeing profits from Adsense.

By the way, to date, after 2 months (without Joel Comm) I have made a big $14 from Adsense on this blog.....

In case you're curious to know if Adsense is really alive(and you should be) here is a list of the top Adsense earners. It boggles the mind...

Flash: Adsense is Alive!!!

Ok. So Scott Boulch did an amazing marketing trick and said something really controversial in order to get zillions of people to sign in to his list. Now he has this HUGE list of subscribers that he can sell to. Pretty clever.

Joel Comm, a real Adsense guru, just released this report which is a complete rebuttal of the Adsense is Dead report. He does a darn good job of explaining it too.
It's free and I recommend that you read it.
Here is the link: Adsense is Alive .
Joel makes about $26,000 a month from Adsense. Wow. Hard to fathom. I would tend to go with HIS version...

By the way, if you download the free Adsense is Alive report Joel will also give you a free report on generating traffic. Grab it!

Stompernet - Andy Jenkins and Brad Fallon

Well, well, well, the wait is over. Stompernet has finally been launched.
The price is over $800 A MONTH. How do you like that?
Some people look at it as $26 a day and therefore - worth it.
That price is a biiiiiiiiiiit steep for me and I'll have to take a pass on it.

Of course, I was right about The Rich Jerk. All his nonsense and cursing
at "Brandy" were just a marketing ploy to draw attention to Stompernet.
He was the first guy I got emails from, promoting the program. He offered
a whacky bonus to whomever bought the program through his affiliate link.
He offered a free "ticket" to participate in his next infomercial. Whatever
floats your boat, I guess...

All the "big" gurus were trying to get me to buy in through their link.
Mike Filsaime, John Reese, Cody Moya and many more. It's a little hard to
trust a guru's opinion of a program when it's clear that they have a vested
interest in you buying through their link.

Which, is the problem with the whole affiliate marketing thing. There is so
much "incest" going on between all the different marketers. They all sell to
each other and promote each other's products. You don't really know who to
trust anymore!!! I wish I knew the answer. There really isn't one.

I actually do believe that Stompernet is a good program. Not quite sure if it's
worth all that money though... What do YOU think?

More on Search Engine Optimization

It's crucial to learn good methods to get your site to the top of the search engines. If someone does a search on a keyword and your site comes up on the 100th or 1000th page, what's the point? Who is going to scroll so far? The trick is to come up on the first page, people. And, apparently, it's possible!!

A while back I gave you a link to those free videos on SEO by Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins.
Now you can find them and more at www.stomperblog.com.
These two very busy bees are now busy getting ready for their big launch today (I think). They have been doing so much pre-selling and already have a HUUUUGE mailing list of people like me that signed up for the free videos. No doubt it will cost a small fortune to join after they launch their offering....

On a side note, I don't know if you have been following their pre-launch marketing, but the Rich Jerk has been sending out some really obnoxious emails about this. He claims they stole his ideas etc. etc. and does alot of "badmouthing" about them. At the same time, he keeps sticking their links in his emails. From which I (oh so cleverly...) deduce that he is their affiliate and he is just doing a very clever job of marketing. His shtick is being obnoxious and using lots and lots of profanity. I guess it works from him.

Back to SEO, I found some nice marketing videos on the subject. They are done by Mike Pollock and he is very clear and concise on the videos. No "uhms". He also offers some samples of freebies on his site. So, you may want to check out the free ones before you spend money. I watched the free one about SEO and it was excellent. I haven't dished out yet for the ones that cost money! Even if you don't buy them now, you can bookmark them for a later date when you are ready to optimize your site. They look really good.

Brad Callen's free course on Search Engine Optimization
If you haven't done so yet please go HERE and sign up for your free 7 day course on SEO with Brad Callen. He really knows his stuff and he's giving it away for free. This is one of the best resources on the internet.
